So here’s the deal: You ARE some kind of wonderful but with the new Facebook algorithm your Business Page followers might not see how wonderful you are!
In an effort to get its users to spend more time engaging with others and less time scrolling through status updates, reading articles and watching videos (come on! We really love those cooking videos- they’re mesmerizing!), Facebook will be making some major changes.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg said “The first changes you'll see will be in News Feed, where you can expect to see more from your friends, family and groups. As we roll this out, you'll see less public content like posts from businesses, brands, and media. And the public content you see more will be held to the same standard -- it should encourage meaningful interactions between people.
So what can you do?
Create awesome content that will promote conversation and focus on storytelling to create engagement.
Avoid Click bait posts that ask a user to like, share, follow or tag. Facebook says they will be demoting these posts.
Choose the “see first” option on pages you do like to engage with (like ours of course!)
To do this go to your favorite page, click the “following” tab under the cover photo, click “see first” then “turn on notifications”.
This is a tough change for small businesses, but we can all make this work!
